My
Work
My work sits at the intersection of learning strategy, workforce capability, instructional design, technology and change. I’m especially drawn to complex environments where there isn’t an obvious answer and where learning is part of a larger organizational challenge.
Enterprise Workforce Capability Framework
I co-developed and implemented a new enterprise Training & Development Framework to create a consistent approach to workforce capability across previously independent operating sites.
Built around the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) model, the framework connects workforce needs analysis, role-based learning, on-the-job development, competency verification, learning technology, reporting, governance, assurance and continuous improvement. The framework supports regulatory and legislated training requirements and has since been implemented and successfully audited.

Emerging Technology for Workforce Capability
I developed a business case for using mixed reality to address a fundamental workforce-development challenge in mining: employees need realistic practice, but many training opportunities are difficult, expensive or unsafe to reproduce in the operating environment. Using the SECTIONS evaluation framework, I assessed the Trimble XR10 with Microsoft HoloLens 2 against operational, safety, technology and implementation requirements.
Rather than beginning with technology and looking for a use case, the project began with the workforce problem and evaluated whether emerging technology could create a better solution.
